Mindfulness and Meditation
The terms are often used interchangeably but they are not exactly the same, however both can help us to become more self-aware and develop skills to navigate the difficulties and challenges of life.
Mindfulness is frequently defined as being present in the moment, acting with intention or purpose and without judgement.
Meditation can take many forms from traditional seated practices, body scans, breath awareness, visualisations, mantras, to walking or other forms of moving meditations.
These workshops will allow you to explore and develop the skills for both mindfulness and meditation.

Mindful Eating
Mindful Eating utilises all of our senses to choose and eat food which are satisfying and nourishing.
Acknowledging that there is no “good” or “bad” food and that we eat for a variety of reasons. It builds awareness of responding to our hunger and satiety cues and using our own inner wisdom for food choice.
Mindful eating can provide us with an opportunity to appreciate food and develop an improved connection with the qualities of food and how they relate to our health and body. Some studies have shown that mindful eating can be beneficial in promoting a healthier relationship to food particularly if we tend to be an emotional eater or have a disordered pattern of eating i.e. restricting or binge eating.
Developing skills for your own mindful eating practice can help re-build an enjoyable and peaceful relationship with food. To eat mindfully does not mean we are “being careful” i.e. that we are still restricting certain foods. While some people may find that as they become more in tune with their internal cues around hunger and satiety, and explore feelings of like, dislike or neutral to foods that they lose weight however to undertake a practice of mindful eating with an expectation or intention to lose weight can be self-defeating and therefore is not recommended.

Yin Yoga and Yoga Nidra
Come and join us for a relaxing session of Yin and Yoga Nidra.
Yin Yoga is a lovely relaxing slow paced class, with longer holds to allow for fascia release. It includes the use of props to ensure your body is comfortable and supported.
We will follow the Yin Yoga with Yoga Nidra guiding you into a sense of deep relaxation.
You will be lying down and the aim of the practice is to relax the body and quiet the mind allowing you to release from life stressors. You will be guided through towards a deep state of conscious awareness sleep, hence the practice is sometimes called Yogic Sleep.
